1000 Series - Checking Continuity on 3 wire DB9 Pigtail
To Test your 3 wire Pigtail, you will do the following:
The Pig Configuration for the Pigtail is:
RX (Red) is for the #2 Pin
GND (Green) is for the #3 Pin
TX (Black) is for the #5 Pin
To check you would simply use a Meter and a paper clip.
Stick the paper clip into the designated Pin Hole (for Example #5)
Switch Meter for Continuity, and put 1 lead on the paper clip and the other lead on the Wire associated with the Pin and check for continuity.
No Continuity indicates a problematic Pigtail
