Troubleshooting Missing Humidity and Temperature Readings on iGrow 800 (DIGITAL INDOOR TEMP/HUM SENSOR) v2.1

Why controller not showing a humidity reading (---%)and  missing temperature reading (--.-F) on the display?

There are two main ways your iGrow 800 controller could help you identify problems with your Indoor Temperature & Humidity Sensor. 

 

SENSOR ERROR 

 

If your controller displays --.-F for Temp and ---% for RH, the iGrow 800 controller is not receiving sensor data. Here are some possible causes: 

 

• Sensor is not wired correctly. 

• Junction box has moisture or other contamination inside it. 

• Sensor wire is cut or damaged. 

• Sensor is damaged. 

• Configuration error 

 

CONFIGURATION ERROR 

 

If there is no humidity reading (---% for RH), please verify whether the humidity sensor is enabled as described in Setup iGrow 800 procedure.  

 

If there is no temperature reading (--.-F for Temp), please verify whether the temperature sensor is in digital mode as described in Setup iGrow 800 procedure.  

 

Please check the sensor if the below conditions still exist. 

 

Setup the iGrow 800 Controller 

 

The Sensor Setup menu could be found under the System Setup menu.

Press OK to go to Menu.

Scroll to the appropriate line using the Menu Wheel or press Button #3 and then OK.  

 

Highlight In Temp using the Menu Wheel and press OK. 

 

A pop-up window will appear.

Using the Menu Wheel, scroll until Digital is highlighted, press OK.

Choose Digital 1 and press OK. 

This will prompt you to the Sensor Setup screen. 

 

Next, select Map Sensor again.

Using the Menu Wheel, scroll down/up to select In Hum for humidity sensor, press OK.

Highlight Digital 1 using Menu Wheel and press OK. 

SENSOR FLUCTUATION 

 

If your sensor readings are fluctuating, please verify whether the shield wire is grounded properly.
