System Setup - Digital Inputs

The Pearl system has several modules that have digital inputs:
8 Relay Output Expansion Module - 8 digital inputs
4 Relay and 4 Analog Output Expansion Module - 4 digital inputs
These modules have digital inputs which can be configured to detect a dry switch closure (e.g. a switch connecting the + and - terminals on the respective inputs)
Note:  not all modules have digital inputs.  For example the 4 Relay Output Expansion Module and the 4 Analog Output Expansion Module don't have any digital inputs.
These inputs can be configured by navigating to the Generic Sensor menu

To Setup your Digital Inputs from Pearl Cloud Platform you would do the following:

To Setup your Digital Inputs from Pearl Controller you would do the following:

and select the desired Generic Sensor (128 available). Then choose the sensor type as DigIn and select the appropriate board number and input number.

in the above example, there is an 8 Relay Output Module scanned as Board #2
and the dry input is physically connected to the + and - terminals of Digital Input 2.

Note: When the + and - terminals of a digital input are connected together (e.g. with a wire), then that input is considered “closed” and will result in a 1 or On. ● When the + and - terminals are not connected together (i.e. no electrical connections between the two terminals), then that input is considered “opened” and will result in a 0 or Off.
