The Pearl firmware can be updated remotely using the cloud (OTA - over the air).  However, there are installations where the internet connection is either non-existent or too unstable for a reliable update.  The Pearl controller can also be updated locally using a USB stick.

Note: There are various versions of the Pearl systems available.  Make sure you update the controller with the correct version. This article is addressing the Pearl Digital version (PD_) only.

Depending on the particular USB stick storage size, we suggest starting with a blank USB before downloading the 2 needed files to it.

It is always advisable to back up the configuration first (either on the Cloud, to a USB stick, or both!).
