The Pearl Soil Moisture Sensor would be wired to your 5 Input Module in the following way:
The Red Wire would go to the (+) of the Input you are going to use for the Temp Probe
The Shield Metal Wire would go to the (-) of the Input you are going to use for the Temp Probe
note: we recommend using 22 Gauge 2 Twisted Shielded Pair Wire when extended sensor wire runs.
(for example let say this Module is board 4, and you have 5 Soil Moisture Sensors you want to have in separate benches in greenhouse for independent Volumetric Water Content reporting of an area)
you would map it in sensor mapping:
hit Enter button, go into System Setup, then Setup Inputs, and you would hit enter to highlight the editing field and scroll down to change Soil 1,2,3,4,5 to be In Bd4 Ch1,2,3,4,5

The key is knowing both when and how much
to water!
Maintaining a healthy soil moisture and water balance
is essential for producing high quality plants.
Under-watered plants suffer from nutrient
deficiencies, stunting and wilting.
Over-watered plants are more susceptible to
disease pressure and less tolerant of dry conditions later on in their life
cycle.
Extreme over-watering will suffocate
the plant and lead to root death.
The Soil Sensor
Measures
Volumetric Water Content (VWC) of soil
Capacitance-type
sensor responds immediately to changes in soil moisture content for better
irrigation decisions
Calibrated
for mineral soils or soilless media
Installs
easily into 3/4 in (1.9 cm) hole
Install
permanently or use to take spot measurements
Can
be read with the Pearl Environmental Controller.
You can connect multiple Soil sensors per iGrow Controller depending on the quantity of Input Module Outputs you have available, and you can always add more 5 Input Modules.
