This is another smart on-demanding watering equipment type. This mode is used in conjunction with a moisture sensor.
It allows you to define a dryness level in the root system of the plants. Once this dryness level is reached, the Pearl will deliver water for a specified amount of time.
This should increase the moisture level of the roots and the cycle starts again. There are built-in deadband to prevent repeated watering around the same moisture reading.
To measure the volumetric water content of the soil, to use soil moisture irrigation, you would need a Pearl 5 input module and a soil moisture sensor to achieve this task.
The first screen is where you set the valve OnTime (length of On Time) once the threshold is triggered. These next two entries on the screen are where you set the time window during which you will allow the irrigation valve to be triggered. If the threshold is reached outside this time window, the irrigation will be triggered at the start of the time window.
Both the start and stop times can be fixed times by selecting the at option or they can be based on Sunrise and Sunset. The Maximum Off Time is a safety feature. If no trigger has occurred after the Max Off Time, then the valve will come on either immediately or at the start of the next time window. As with all irrigation equipment types, you can optionally assign a supply pump ID to activate the associate supply pump for this particular channel.
