Regarding your button issues, please do the following:

Try wiping the controller off with cleaner, removing any debris from the touch screen

Make sure Screen Ribbon is flush and parallel with PCB. View the backside of the PCB and make sure it is installed correctly.

Hit the RESET button and see if this frees up your screen issue.
