iGrow1800 - Programming Lights - Cyclic HID Control

The iGrow1800 can be used to control lights (typically HID) in the greenhouse, based on a Cyclic Mode, a Start/End time and an ON/OFF duration.

Here is a video:

For this mode, you will have to program in 2 different locations: System Setup and Program Equipment

1st we will setup Cyclic Lighting in System Setup

From home screen hit Enter/Menus -> then go into System Setup -> and then Cyclic Lighting.

There are two modes available for cyclic lighting: Sequential and Concurrent. Sequential is when one light bank comes on at a time. Concurrent is when they all come on at the same time

The Start Delay is at the beginning of the cycle and the Finish delay occurs at the end. See diagram below

In this Sequential mode the overall cycle time is equal to the Start Delay + Sum of all light channel On Times + Finish Delay. During the Start Delay and Finish Delay times, all the lights are off so this is in effect the Off Time.

In the Concurrent mode, all the channels will come on at the same time. Typically, the Start Delay will be set to 0:00 and the Finish Delay will become the Off Time. See Diagram below:

The Min On Time is the shortest time that the lights will be on. This is to eliminate “short cycling” of the lights.

Once you have set your Cyclic parameters in System Setup its time to program your Cyclic Light Output in Programming Equipment.

To program simply hit Enter/Menu -> Program Equipment -> Hit Enter/Menu to highlight Output -> NEXT to scroll over to Equipment type field -> hit + till you display LIGHT then hit Back.  Hit NEXT to highlight the MODE -> hit + till you highlight Cyclic then hit next.

With the Cyclic Light Mode, you can set the time window, that is, the Start and End times during which the lights can come on this particular light bank output.

You also set the On Time, which is the length of time the light bank is to come on during its cycle within the time window.
