Once these items have been obtained, you can update your controllers firmware by simply getting the firmware from our website or by calling support so we can send you the file.

STEP 1 - Examine your computer to see if there is as serial port on it. The serial port has nine pins as shown below. If yours does have a serial port, connect the serial cable as shown below.

If your computer does not have a serial port, then it will be necessary to use a serial to USB adaptor cable. Locate the USB port on your computer and plug in the USB to serial converter cable.

STEP 2 - If your computer requests drivers to use the USB to serial converter, insert the firmware upgrade USB into PC.  The necessary drivers are located on the USB in the folder labeled “FTDI driver”.  USB Converter Cable, you can also download them at http://www.ftdichip.com/

STEP 3 - Plug the serial cable into the USB to serial converter cable.

STEP 5 - Once the cable is connected to your iGrow1400, double check to be sure the cable is correctly seated on the header (not shifted left to right or front to back). Note the orientation of the cable, the red stripe on the cable should be towards the right side of the iGrow1400.
